Sew… we had a mini trip to Aalborg, in Denmark, last weekend. My little suitcase was packed full of me made clothes but I hardy wore any of it! We stayed in an amazing Air Bnb apartment so we decided to cook in the evenings rather than going out. That makes me sound so old but we both needed a relaxing break so it was perfect.
Having a little rest along the water front.
There’s not many outfits to show but here they are.
For the very short flight I went for ultimate comfort and wore one of my latest makes, my Tilly and the Buttons Milas, which you can read all about here. As it was an early flight I went for a long sleeved ready to wear top underneath. Just because I sew doesn’t mean I’m against RTW. Yes I’ll be making my own long sleeves tops at some point but as I already have perfectly wearable tops I’ll wear them until they are worn out and then I’ll make some. I’m trying to get my head into the sustainable and quality mode rather than just churning out all the garments that aren’t made to last and what I don’t necessarily need.
When we arrived it was a lovely sunny day so I swapped my long sleeved top for a Tilly and the Buttons Coco t-shirt I made last summer. We had a wander into the town and popped to the tourist information to get a map ready for a proper explore the following day.
Some bullet journalling and podcast listening whilst the boy had a nap!
Friday was another glorious sunny day so I went for a dress and sandals. A proper spring outfit. This is my first attempt at the Tilly and the Buttons Agnes and I went straight in for the dress hack. The jersey is from Minerva Crafts and is so light and floaty it was so lovely to wear. We wandered all around the town hunting out street art and along by the water. I loved all the little colourful houses.
On Saturday we went to the zoo! We were excited by the polar bears, Pygmy hippos and sloths. Another new dress for today. The Slow Sunday Tilia pinafore dress out of the Art Galley dinosauria canvas. I need to work on the fit as it’s a bit big but I really like the V neck. I do love a pinafore but I think the Cleo is definitely my fav!
And on Sunday we came home so I wore my Milas again. I had packed some casual dresses to wear in the evenings but we stayed in and watched films. At least it meant I didn’t have lots of washing to do!
Goodbye Denmark you were lovely.
We had such a lovely few days away and love exploring new cities. Where should we go next?
